Known Allergens at Hamburger America

In an effort to create a safe environment for all our customers, below are answers to some common questions about allergens at Hamburger America.  Unfortunately, due to the frequency of our menu changes and our inability to predict all sensitivities, this is not a complete list.  If you have more specific questions please contact us directly, ask a manager, or consult your physician.


Here are some common allergens and ingredients you may encounter:

  • Fry Oil: Our French fries are cooked in corn oil.
  • Peanut Butter: Peanut Butter is present in PB&J sandwiches and our off-menu Guberburger.
    • If you have a peanut allergy, please request your burger be cooked on the back line ("Onion Burger Griddle"), which does not come into contact with peanut butter.
    • Note: Unfortunately, If you have a severe or airborne peanut allergy, we may not be a safe environment for you. Please consult your physician before dining with us.
  • Tree Nuts: Tree nuts may appear on our menu from time to time in desserts and specials.  We cannot guarantee that our kitchen is entirely free of cross-contact. Please check with staff if you have concerns. 
  • Shellfish: We do not serve shellfish as a primary ingredient; however, we do handle and prepare other ingredients in the same kitchen space, so there may be a risk of cross-contact.
  • Burger Buns: We use Martin’s Potato Rolls which contain milk.
  • Fries: Our fries are Gluten-Free
  • Eggs: Eggs are present in our Gluten-Free Buns (egg whites) and some of our dressings and sauces.
  • Gluten-Free: Our Gluten-Free Buns contain corn starch, potato starch, rice, sugar, yeast, egg whites, and canola oil.
  • Beef: Our beef is not Halal or Kosher.
  • Sesame seeds may be present depending on the Monthly Burger Special. Please check the description on our menu page for details.
